INTRODUCING...

     Dash

Many countries have no tolerance for dogs with injuries or disabilities - but Dash was fortunate to be a rescued by a wonderful lady who found him, scooped him up, and saved his life.

Dash was found in an appalling condition. One of his back legs was so smashed up that it had to be amputated. His front leg, diagonal to his amputated leg, was painful and held high to avoid putting weight on a smashed up elbow. But he had adapted and he was still able to walk around on his 2 good legs. And his personality glinted behind a broken body and frightened exterior.

His rescuer spread his photos across social media and Elizabeth offered him a kennel space and veterinary care, through PJAH. Dash arrived with a bewildered cautious glance towards his new humans - and a painful and hugely obvious limp. But he was young, fit and determined - and Elizabeth saw in him that same glint of potential that was just waiting to shine.

Dash amazes everyone who meets him. The vet said GTT - Give Them Time - time to heal and time to strengthen his 2 good legs with gentle exercise and a good diet. Dash is called Dash for a reason! Try telling him about 'gentle exercise'! Dash loves to run! On two legs! He doesn't care that he has 3 paws but only 2 good ones! He has excellent mobility and astounds us with his happy disposition and zest for living!

Dash is aged only around 2 or 3, about 20kg and that glint in his eyes shines brightly! He is young and excited to embrace life! He is cheeky, funny and intelligent. He walks well on a lead and really enjoys the freedom and safety that PJ has given him. It's time for Dash to leave us and find his own special family.

Dash could live with another dog with careful introductions and adequate supervision to ensure he settles well. He has never shown any aggression whatsoever but, due to his disabilities, we would not rehome him to a family with young children. He will need time to settle as he is wary of strangers but, with time, someone's life will be filled with fun and love when they welcome this lad into their home.

Here's what the volunteers had to say about Dash -

"Super cheeky, will steal out my bag/pockets if not looking. Never stands still always, seems to have a grin on his face."

"Loves life and biddable - goes in with poultry/sheep at the sanctuary and he always comes back."

"He’s a cheeky 'thief' always looking for the goat feed and pig pellets. A cheeky thief - and he knows it!"

"Dash is a total joy and very positively responsive. His physical difficulties have been already sorted by him in his mind. He deserves a forever home with the right people. Love him to bits. 😊 "

Please contact us if you've seen the glint and potential of this lovely boy & can offer him a forever home.

NOTE. All our imported dogs are tested for foreign diseases, including Brucella Canis. This is not a legal requirement and tests are not always 100% reliable - but we consider testing prior to importation to be 'best practice'.
Some vet practices are now asking for a negative B. Canis test result prior to accepting a 'foreign' dog for treatment and will want to conduct their own testing. Boarding kennels are also starting to ask for results.
