INTRODUCING... CHARLIE

INTRODUCING...

CHARLIE hasn’t been at PJ long but he has made a huge impression – for all the right reasons! What a lovely boy he is!

Charlie was born in Macedonia and he didn’t have a happy life. He was chased by people in the village where he lived and suffered abuse and immense pain before he was finally rescued. Once safe and at the veterinary clinic, Charlie was found to have a historic broken front leg that had healed on its own and also a broken
pelvis. Charlie finally received all the care he needed and, in spite of all the trauma he has been through, Charlie is forgiving and is an incredibly friendly boy.

It is quite unusual to have a dog like Charlie at PJ as he is good with cats as well as other dogs. He is gentle and kind and an all round cheerful soul that would happily lap up as much attention as anyone has time to offer him. He could live with children – although probably older “dog aware” children as he doesn’t want a boisterous home. Charlie is only 5 ½ years old and would love to experience home life with a family. He is very labrador-like in size and nature although he is of mixed breeding. He is great on a lead and, at PJ, he has been off lead in the secure fields and he doesn’t show any signs of wanting to run off or chase livestock. He has been enjoying exploring the fields at PJ and has been introducing himself to all the other animals, including the livestock! Charlie has a weakness in his hips and back legs from the previous trauma but this may well improve as his muscles strengthen from regular exercise. Little and often exercise would probably suit Charlie better than long walks.

Nothing stops Charlie from living life to the full! He does relish human company and will clamber over or through obstacles to be with his human. He could be an only dog in a home or be homed with other dogs or cats. He is such an easy boy and definitely ready for a home and a family to call his own. He needs people who are around most of the time as he would be stressed without company.

Charlie is available for adoption and full details about adopting an animal from PJ can be found on our website (or, if you are reading this via Facebook, you can follow the link below).
